The Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC), manages over $300 million in research and development projects in telemedicine and advanced medical technologies. To support its efforts, TATRC maintains a robust mix of partnerships with federal, academic, and commercial organizations.

1) Important federally sponsored research and development activities of the U.S.Army, National Library of Medicine, Department of Homeland Security, Universities, and private sector organizations with regard to technology tools for disaster preparedness, mitigation and response.

2) Practical examples of information technologies that have been fielded or are being planned for disaster preparedness and response.

3) Mechanisms for acquiring technologies including legislation such as the Stevenson-Wydler Tech Innovation Act, Bayh-Dole Act, and the Federal Technology Transfer Act.
