Reed Franklin is Senior Director of Public Policy at ATA. He is responsible for coordinating ATA’s public policy agenda and representing the telemedicine community before Congress and federal agencies. Mr. Franklin has almost 20 years of Capitol Hill experience, having served in senior legislative positions for several Members of Congress including the late Rep. Jim Olin (D-VA), Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA), and Rep. Tim Holden (D-PA). Mr. Franklin served as Associate Director of Government Affairs for the American Nurses Association, where he was one of the key health care lobbyists. He also served the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as Director of the Capitol Hill office and chief health care lobbyist. Immediately prior to joining ATA, Mr. Franklin served as Director of Federal and Reimbursement Policy for the American Occupational Therapy Association. Mr. Franklin is a graduate of Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia, with a degree in history and philosophy.
