The purpose of the ATA TeleICU Discussion Group is to promote and foster the growth and provision of Intensive care services using telemedicine technologies.
Goals:
- Promote concepts and policies that improve patient care in ICUs or monitored beds (e.g. Leap Frog ICU Physician Staffing criteria, decreased mortality, decreased ICU LOS, improved “bundle’ compliance, etc.)
- Engage the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) in active discussions regarding TeleICU services and general clinical guidelines
- Engage TeleICU providers to identify standard data collection elements for the collection and dissemination of clinical and financial information related to ICU based telehealth services
- Engage vendors of TeleICU hardware and software in conversations related to current and future needs.
