The purpose of the ATA TeleICU Discussion Group is to promote and foster the growth and provision of Intensive care services using telemedicine technologies.

Goals:

  1. Promote concepts and policies that improve patient care in ICUs or monitored beds (e.g. Leap Frog ICU Physician Staffing criteria, decreased mortality, decreased ICU LOS, improved “bundle’ compliance, etc.)
  1. Engage the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN)  in active discussions regarding TeleICU services and general clinical guidelines
  1. Engage TeleICU providers to identify standard data collection elements for the collection and dissemination of clinical and financial information related to ICU based telehealth services
  1. Engage vendors of TeleICU hardware and software in conversations related to current and future needs.
